In the previous video, we talked about the total system power and the main motor power of the wire saw machine. In this video, let's discuss the rated speed of the main motor, the diameter of the power flywheel, and the linear speed of the wire saw. Because once we understand these three parameters, we'll solve the problem of "what speed is the most suitable to set the wire saw machine to".
Technical Parameters Analysis
The rated speed of the main motor is 980 revolutions per minute. Note that the unit is revolutions per minute, which means the maximum speed of its main motor is 980 revolutions per minute. You can set a value between 0 - 980, and it will rotate the corresponding number of revolutions per minute.
The diameter of the power flywheel is 800mm, which is a fixed value. Based on these two values and the linear - speed formula, we can calculate the maximum linear speed of this wire saw machine. The linear - speed formula is v = πdn (where v represents the linear speed, d is the diameter of the power flywheel, and n is the rotational speed). Let's substitute the values into the formula for calculation.
First, convert the rotational speed to revolutions per second. 1000 revolutions per minute is 980/60 = 49/3 revolutions per second after conversion. Then substitute d = 0.8 meters and n = 50/3 revolutions per second into the formula, and we get v = π×0.8×49/3 ≈ 41 meters per second.
This is why the technical parameter table indicates that the linear - speed range of this wire saw machine is 0 - 40m/s. Back to our question: what speed is the most suitable to set the wire saw machine to? At this time, we need to check the technical parameters of the diamond wire saw. Taking the cutting of medium - hardness marble as an example, the manufacturer clearly gives the linear - speed range of this model of diamond wire saw as 22 - 32m/s. We can work backward through the formula just mentioned.
When the linear speed is 22m/s: N = v/(πd)=22/(3.14*0.8)=8.7 revolutions per second = 8.7*60 = 525 revolutions per minute.
When the linear speed is 32m/s: N = v/(πd)=32/(3.14*0.8)=12.7 revolutions per second = 11.9*60 = 764 revolutions per minute.
The final conclusion is that the ideal rotational speed is between 525 - 764 revolutions per minute.
