The cutting efficiency of the rope saw machine
How many cubic meters of stone can be quarried by one of your wire saw machines in a day? This is the most frequently asked question since I've been in the wire saw industry. It's also a concern for many bosses who are new to wire saws.
Hello, everyone. I'm Oliver Mo, who manufactures and sells wire saws. Before answering this question, let's watch the quarrying videos of these two quarries. This quarry uses the inverted high - slab method for quarrying. The layer height of inverted high - slab quarrying is generally 6 - 8 meters, and the layer height of this quarry is 6 meters. Remember this value as we'll use it later. Now, let's look at this quarry. It's a pit - type quarry. Due to the limitations of construction conditions, its layer height is 1.8 meters. Now, let's calculate. Assuming that the four sides of the stone have been cut and only the bottom cut is left, a 75KW wire saw machine can cut 15 square meters per hour. So, how many cubic meters of stone can one wire saw machine quarry in an hour? The volume formula is the base area multiplied by the height. For the first quarry, it's 15 * 6 = 90 cubic meters. For the second quarry, it's 15 * 1.8 = 27 cubic meters.
In the same one - hour period, there's a big difference between 27 cubic meters and 90 cubic meters! What if it's for a whole day, a week, or a month? The difference would be even greater! So, the conclusion is that with the same cutting efficiency, the amount of stone quarried per unit is closely related to your quarrying plan. That is to say, if you ask me how many cubic meters of stone a wire saw machine can quarry in a day or a month, I can't give you a direct answer. I can only tell you how many square meters a wire saw machine can cut in an hour. Note that it's square meters, not cubic meters.
Here are two reference values. The 75kw Power Save Master wire saw machine can cut 10 - 13 square meters per hour when cutting granite with a hardness of about 6 - 7, and 13 - 18 square meters per hour when cutting marble with a hardness of about 3 - 4. Here, the hardness refers to the Mohs hardness. You can refer to my previous video for a special introduction to what the Mohs hardness is. Finally, I'd like to add that the efficiency won't be improved with just one wire saw machine. You need at least three wire saw machines, and the quarrying efficiency will be multiplied. If you want to know why, you can follow me first, and I'll make a separate video to explain this issue later.
Finally, I'm Oliver Mo, who manufactures and sells wire saws. I hope to be your partner on the stone - quarrying journey. If you encounter any problems when buying a wire saw machine, you can contact me privately. See you in the next video.
