In this episode, let's talk about the analysis of the selection of the quarry entrance location and the difficulty of wire saw quarrying. Before talking about the selection of the quarry entrance location, let's first understand the quarrying mode of the wire saw machine. The wire saw machine quarries by drilling three-way holes and using the high-plate method. What is drilling three-way holes? What is the high-plate method? We will have a special video to explain this later, but here is a brief introduction. By drilling a horizontal hole from the front and side, and then drilling a vertical hole from the top, the three holes are connected to form a three-way hole. Then, the Diamond Wire Saw is passed through two of the holes and set on the machine for cutting. This quarrying method is called the three-way hole method. So what is the high-plate method? Simply put, it means that each layer of stone quarrying is done at a height of 6 to 8 meters. The method of separating the stone material that has been peeled off from the mountain and then dividing it is called the high-plate method. Now we get a key word: the layer height should be 6 to 8 meters.
Now back to our initial question. Why are the masters unwilling to work at the flat ground at the foot of the mountain? The layer height on flat ground can only be 1.5 to 2 meters. Moreover, there is no place to pile up the waste material, which will affect the construction process and production. As the masters said: If we quarry on the flat ground at the foot of the mountain, the cost of quarrying will be higher than the selling price of the stone. Therefore, when choosing the quarry entrance, we should choose the top of the mountain or the middle of the mountain. This is not only beneficial for quarrying but also for piling up waste material. It can also greatly reduce the cost of quarrying. Moreover, in terms of the quality of the stone, due to the formation of marble, the impurities in the stone at the foot of the mountain will be much higher than those at the top and middle of the mountain. Therefore, let's summarize. For marble quarrying, the first choice for the quarry entrance is the top of the mountain, followed by the middle of the mountain, and finally, if it is absolutely necessary to quarry on flat ground, it is the last resort.
