Quarry electrolic power facilities
Today, let's talk about how to configure the electrical facilities in marble quarrying. In those remote quarry operation areas, a stable and safe power supply is the key to ensuring quarrying efficiency. So, how is the quarry power system set up? And if there's no access to the power grid, how can we solve the power supply problem?
Part 1: The basic composition of the quarry power system
Marble quarries usually use high - voltage transmission lines for power supply. However, since most quarries are located in remote mountainous areas, the electricity needs to be stepped down by a transformer before it can be used. Generally, a quarry will be equipped with an independent transformer to convert high - voltage electricity into 380V industrial electricity to meet the operating requirements of quarrying equipment.
Choosing the capacity of the transformer is very important. Usually, it should be 20% higher than the total power of the quarry equipment. This way, we can ensure a stable power supply and avoid overloading operation. For example, if the total power of the quarry equipment is 500 kilowatts, then the capacity of the transformer should be at least 600 kilowatts.
Part 2: How to set up the power distribution system?
After the electricity comes out of the transformer, it will enter the switchgear room. Then the electricity is transmitted from the switchgear room to the distribution switchgear, and then distributed to the terminal switchgear of each device, and finally distributed to each quarrying device. If the switchgear room is close to the quarrying face, the distribution switchgear can also be omitted and directly connected to the terminal switchgear.
Part 3: Terminal power supply and equipment connection
Each quarrying device, such as wire saw machines and horizontal drills, generally requires a cable line 50 to 100 meters long to be connected to the terminal switchgear. This ensures that when drilling and cutting at different positions, the length of the cable line is sufficient to move to the corresponding position for construction.
To ensure safety, the terminal switchgear must be waterproof and dustproof and equipped with an emergency power - off switch. In case of an accident, workers can quickly cut off the power.
Part 4: Power supply solutions in the case of no power grid access
If there's no power grid access to the quarry, a diesel generator needs to be used for power supply. The power of the generator must cover the total demand of all equipment and leave a 20% - 30% margin to prevent overload.
For example, if the total power of the quarry equipment is 300 kilowatts, it is recommended to choose a 400 - kilowatt generator to ensure stable operation. At the same time, the generator should be placed in a place with good ventilation and away from flammable materials and be regularly maintained to avoid malfunctions.
Summary: Safety and stability are crucial
The power system of a marble quarry, from high - voltage power transmission → transformer → switchgear room → distribution switchgear → terminal switchgear, is closely linked. Any problem in any link may affect production. Therefore, reasonable design, regular inspection, and safe operation are the keys to ensuring the power supply of the quarry.
