Precautions for Installing Rails of Wire Saw Machine
Are there any special points to note when installing the rails of a wire saw machine? Is the installation method shown in the video feasible? What are the requirements for the site where the wire saw machine is used? In this video, we'll solve these problems.
Hello, everyone. I'm Oliver Mo, who manufactures and sells wire saws. Once, a customer who runs a stone processing factory bought a wire saw machine because the stone blocks he purchased were too large. He wanted to cut the blocks in half before transporting them to the processing machine for plate processing. He asked me if the site for installing the wire saw machine rails should be hardened with cement. Actually, it's not necessary. Hardening is of course the best, but it's okay if not. To correctly install the rails of a wire saw machine, you only need to do the following three points:
(1) Construct the working platform for the wire saw machine
Before installing the rails, you need to excavate a flat working area with a width of ≥ 4 meters. Since the width of the rails is 1.2 meters, enough space for personnel activities should be reserved on both sides of the rails. Ensure that the ground bearing capacity and stability meet the equipment requirements, and reserve space for construction machinery operation. It's not advisable to level the ground completely by using stones as supports when the ground is uneven. The bearing capacity will be unbalanced, and when a nearly 3 - ton machine moves on the rails, there will be a risk of collapse due to unstable rails.
(2) Transport the rails
Each section of the wire saw machine rail is 2 meters long. A wire saw is usually configured with 4 sections of rails, totaling 8 meters. For short - distance transportation, two people can carry one section at a time, one in front and the other behind. For long - distance transportation, you can use lifting ropes or slings to lift all four sections of the rails at once with an excavator.
(3) Install and position the rails
If you are making a vertical cut, align one side of the rails with the position to be cut, and the rails should be parallel to the cutting surface. Then connect the two ends of the rails and fasten the connecting bolts. Does the installation position of the rails need to be precisely aligned with the cutting surface? No, it only needs to be roughly aligned and then kept parallel. Because the head of the wire saw machine can move horizontally for a certain distance, you can adjust it by moving the head horizontally during cutting.
It should be noted that the correct installation sequence is to install three sections of the rails first, then hoist the wire saw machine, and finally install the last section of the rail. Because the wire saw machine must always be placed on the rails and cannot be directly placed on the ground. There is a walking gear device in the middle of the bottom of the wire saw machine. If the ground is uneven and the machine is placed directly on it, it is very likely to damage the walking gear of the wire saw machine.
